Safend Solution to Secure Lenovo Desktops and Notebooks from Endpoint Information Leakage and Theft
June 19th, 2007- BEIJING & PHILADELPHIA - Safend, an international provider of endpoint information leakage prevention (ILP) solutions for enterprise computers, is partnering with Lenovo, a global supplier of desktop and notebook products and services to provide organizations with an information security solution for their desktops and notebooks that will protect confidential data from theft and loss as well as help maintain regulatory compliance. Effective immediately, Lenovo will resell the Safend Solution to their customers in more than 160 countries worldwide. Safend Protector and Safend Auditor will be included in Lenovo’s security portfolio as a central element of their strategy for helping Lenovo customers deal with the problem of data leakage and theft at the endpoint.
“Lenovo is the leader in the desktop and notebook market with annual revenue reaching $ 14.6 billion,” said Susan Callahan, VP Business Development and Marketing for Safend. “We’re pleased to be part of their successful and proven offering and look forward to working with Lenovo to ensure the integrity of customers’ data.”
Safend Protector protects the confidential files and sensitive information stored on corporate PCs and laptops from loss, tampering, and theft by controlling access to physical and wireless communication ports--including USB, FireWire, WiFi, Bluetooth, Infrared (IrDA), and CD/DVDs as well as monitoring the transfer of files and sensitive content. Safend Auditor monitors and documents current and historically connected devices, offering visibility and control of endpoint vulnerabilities.
“Industry analysts report that up to 70% of a company’s confidential data resides on corporate endpoints,” said Steve Petracca, VP and General Manager for Lenovo’s Software & Peripherals Business Unit. “Protecting that data is a prime concern for our customers. Safend’s endpoint ILP solutions provide the tools our customers need to protect their corporate assets without sacrificing their productivity.”
