Request Mac Protector Evaluation

The award winning Safend Data Protection Suite consists of Port/Device Control, Removable Media Encryption, Content Aware Inspection and Discovery, and Hard Disk Encryption.

It has been available for the Windows OS family (XP, Windows 7, and limited support for Windows 2000).

“Protector for Mac” – is the first step toward full Data Protection Suite support of Mac OS/X.

The new MAC OS/X Port and Device Control enables the administrator to use the same existing Safend Data Protection Console to configure policies for Mac OS/X machines.

The supported configured policy includes:

• Enabling and blocking ports (BT, WiFi, IR, USB, FireWire, CD/DVD
• Enabling and blocking devices by class, VID, PID, Serial number – allow administrator to enforce a highly granular “Enterprise provided devices only” policy and granularly allow or block a specific device model or specific device to be associated with a machine, a user, or a group of users. For example: allow Finance OU members to use Kingston DataTraveler Secure encrypted devices wherever they are in the organization.
• Detailed logs and reports by status and by OS - An additional field in the logs “Agent OS” will allow queries and reports that are focused on OS/X deployment status and events.
• License management
• Support for OS/X 10.5 & 10.6 (Leopard & Snow Leopard) on Intel chips.
