FIPS 140-2 Non-Proprietary Security Policy for the Safend Cryptographic Library

This non-proprietary Cryptographic Module Security Policy for the Safend Cryptographic Library (“the module”) from Safend provides an overview of the product line using the module and a high-level description of how the module meets the security requirements of FIPS 140-2. This document contains details on the module’s cryptographic keys and critical security parameters. Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 140-2 — Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules specifies requirements for cryptographic products to be deployed in a Sensitive but Unclassified environment. Common Criteria Certificate
The National Information Assurance Partnership Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS) Validation Body is managed and staffed by the National Security Agency (NSA). Common Criteria provides assurance that the process of specification, implementation and evaluation of a computer security product has been conducted in a rigorous and standard manner. Safend Protector is EAL 2 Validated Product of conformance to the Common Criteria (ISO/IEC 15408).

Safend joined the RSA Secured® Partner Program to certify interoperability between Safend Protector and the RSA enVision® platform from RSA, the Security Division of EMC (NYSE:EMC). Microsoft WHQL Certification
Microsoft’s Windows Hardware Quality Labs testing process (WHQL) submits third-party products to analysis which assesses the products for compatibility with Windows® operating systems. By completing this process, Safend solutions are designated as Windows compatible - offering a reliable and consistent interoperability with the Windows operating systems. Microsoft requires all products earning the Windows logo to maintain the following characteristics: all components must install and uninstall properly and not interfere with other system components, each component must interoperate well with other system components, and all components must function normally after the operating system is upgraded to Windows XP or any later version of the operating systems for which the system or component carries the logo.
The compatibility with Windows® operating systems insures a secure and hassle-free user experience for Safend Protector customers.
