Endpoint DLP Survey and Two Panel Sessions also Unveiled for Upcoming RSA Conference
RSA Conference 2008
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Safend, a leading provider of enterprise endpoint Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) solutions , today announced it will be hosting an event along with Utimaco Safeware and Aladdin featuring Nick Selby, research director at the 451 Group, titled “Prioritizing the Data Leakage Problem and the Products That Address the Solution.” Selby will discuss the findings of his latest “Mind the Gap” report on data leakage prevention at the event on April 9 from 5:30 p.m.– 8:30 p.m. PDT at Johnny Foley’s located at 243 O'Farrell Street in San Francisco.
Safend also released today the results of an endpoint security and data leakage threat survey that included responses from enterprise executives and IT administrators. Key results of the survey include:
- Nearly 60 percent of all respondents are either unaware or unsure of how many devices connect to their corporate endpoints.
- Forty-four percent have only moderate policies for endpoint and port security in place and nearly 25 percent have no policies set at all.
- Of the nearly 30 percent of respondents whom have experienced data leakage or theft in the last 24 months, 29 percent say that the incident had a financial impact on their organization.
The survey results reflect the rising need for endpoint DLP as an integral component to an organization’s data security. “Anti-data leakage lies at the confluence of authorization and data protection and will soon become part of an overall strategy for information security,” states Nick Selby, senior analyst and director with The 451 Group, a technology industry analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation, in his report. These comments appeared in an independent report, titled “Data leakage: technical or HR problem? 42 vendors think they know the answer,” which was published on July 2, 2007.
